Summer may be coming to an end, but with a new season comes fresh sketch comedy at The Second City. The latest Mainstage show Come What Mayhem boasts a timely lineup of hilarious bits covering everything from desperate starving artists on Indiegogo to self-righteous foodies, Donald Trump, Black Lives Matter and more.

Directed by Second City alumna Carly Heffernan, Mayhem features a brilliant cast, including Roger Bainbridge, Kyle Dooley, Brandon Hackett, Becky Johnson, Lindsay Mullan, and Ann Pornel. Audiences will love Bainbridge as the angry host of “You Oughta Know” – a talk show that asks participants (including one lucky guest from the crowd) questions intended to reveal their ignorance about current events. Pornel also steals scenes with her bold, in-your-face take on being the “fat friend,” and Dooley gets big laughs in a sketch about a space creature looking for a bathroom.

The show's no-holds-barred humour lands most of the time. Even somewhat random pieces like a skit about a guy who keeps running into his ex-girlfriends to the horror of his current date (played by the perfectly awkward Becky Johnson) had the audience in stitches. Fast paced and furiously funny, Mayhem is comedic chaos at its best.

Catch it on stage until January 1, 2017 at The Second City (51 Mercer Street, Toronto). Visit secondcity.com for more information and to buy tickets.
