In October 2014, London's historic Globe Theatre announced they would bring screenings of six popular productions to landmark cinemas across Canada. This month, Toronto audiences have the opportunity to see Globe on Screen's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema (December 27, 12pm).

Directed by the Globe's artistic director Dominic Dromgoole, this enchanting production features Olivier Award winner Michelle Terry stars as Titania/Hippolyta alongside Fergal McElherron as Quince/First Fairy, Pierce Quigley as Bottom, Huss Garbiya as Starveling/Fairy and John Light as Oberon/Theseus. A masterful performance, Globe on Screen's Dream is captured in high definition with full 5.1 surround sound so you'll think you're actually sitting in the Globe's gorgeous open-air theatre (minus the airfare). Shakespeare lovers rejoice!

Note: following the December 27 screening of A Midsummer Nights's Dream, there will be a screening of The Taming of the Shrew on January 24 and The Tempest on February 21. Visit boxoffice.hotdocs.ca to buy tickets.
