CBC Over The Rainbow: Performance Show # 7

The top 4 Dorothys sing their hearts out in a high-stakes Over The Rainbow semi-final

Top 4 sing “Don’t Stop Believin’” from Rock of Ages. L to R: AJ Bridel, Colleen Furlan, Danielle Wade and Stephanie La Rochelle.

And then there were four…Last night, AJ Bridel, Colleen Furlan, Danielle Wade and Stephanie La Rochelle faced-off in the semi-final performance episode of CBC’s Over The Rainbow, each vying for the coveted role of Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz at the Ed Mirvish Theatre.

Stephanie wowed the judges, nailing the title song from Cabaret; Colleen’s rendition of “Somewhere” from West Side Story was pretty but lacking in substance; AJ belted “All That Jazz” from Chicago with her usual powerhouse energy; and Danielle performed a heartfelt rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. The four Dorothys finished the night with “Seasons of Love” from Rent, and left Canada to decide who deserves to wear the ruby slippers.

Find out who stays and who goes on tonight’s results show at 8pm EST (8:30 NT). Visit CBC.ca/overtherainbow for more information.
